ABSTRACT
Asoka pharmacy is a private owned pharmacy and store located in Balapitiya where it based
on supplying drugs items as a wholesale to a retail customers and channeling doctor’s wide
area in Galle district. Currently they are using a manual system for capture the inventory
and health records as using Microsoft Excel rendering making management decision.
The primary aim of is to improve accuracy and enhance safety and efficiency in the
pharmaceutical store and managing doctor channeling. This project is insight into the design
and implementation of a Pharmacy Management System. Today management is one of the
most essential features of all form. Management provides sophistication to perform any kind
of task in a particular form. This is medical health inventory management system it is used
to manage most pharmacy store related activities in the pharmacy.
When day to day stock and channeling is increasing the filing cabinet space is not enough
to handle the huge amount of printed data excel sheets. In order to overcome this situation,
they interested to get a solution as a web based medical health inventory management
system is to be the most appropriate solution because of when the system is implemented
an operation the proprietor is capable of reducing the time to take decision for the reorder
the pharmacy stock and change the doctors who are not participating for practices.
The Medical Health Inventory Management System is a web based system which is
developed by using PHP (A server side scripting language), XAMPP – A free open source
based package including MYSQL (Use database connectivity and handling), Apache (Use
as a web server), HTML5 (As a markup language), CSS (Styling the markups of HTML).
The Architecture is 3-Tier Architecture.
The proposed system would assist the office automation in provide various features which
handled tasks with ease of use as well as removing the weakness, delays of the current
manual system.
