He is a French national and the CEO and chairman of LVMH, the world's largest
luxury goods company that includes over 75 luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton,
Hennessey, Marc Jacobs, and Sephora. Arnault's immense wealth is derived mainly
from his significant stake in Christian Dior SE.
Arnault began exhibiting his business acumen while working at his father's
construction company, Ferret-Savinel, and eventually took over as CEO in 1971. He
later converted Ferret-Savinel to a real estate company called Férinel Inc. in 1979
and remained its chairman for six more years.
In 1984, Arnault acquired luxury goods maker Financière Agache and reorganized it,
eventually selling all its holdings except for Christian Dior and Le Bon Marché. He
was invited to invest in LVMH in 1987 and became its majority shareholder, board
chair, and CEO two years later. Arnault is an engineer by training and has received
numerous awards for his contributions to the fashion industry, including France's
Legion of Honor.

2024. Bezos took Amazon public in 1997 and became the first person since Bill Gates
in 1999 to achieve a net worth of over $100 billion. In July 2021, Bezos stepped
down as the CEO of the e-commerce giant and became its executive chair. Bezos’
other ventures include Blue Origin, an aerospace company, The Washington Post
(which he acquired in 2013), and the Long Now Foundation’s 10,000-year clock.
