Racism
Racism is the belief that humans are separated into groups, based on their biological
entities, races, and that certain races are superior to other races. To this day, racism
plays a big role in society. According to research people of color are ten times more
likely to get killed than white people. What caused racism to start and how is racism
visible in society nowadays?
In the nineteenth century, people claimed that certain races have the natural right to
have a higher position in society than others. During that time it was said that the
white race would be in danger if they would be in the same position as other races.
Most societies have concluded that racism is wrong. Humans should be treated
equally and should therefore have the same rights and chances in life.
Unfortunately, racism is still a big issue. ¨Harmless” jokes, excluding people of color
and even murdering them are impacting the lives of many people of color in a
negative way. It seems that racism isn’t ever going to disappear and a lot of people
want to change that. Certain organizations fight for the rights of people of color and
for justice when laws that have to do with that are violated. Furthermore, protests
against racism and for equality are becoming more popular. Many people join the
protest to show support to the people who have to deal with racism.
In conclusion, racism is horrible and has been around for a long time. We don’t know
if it’s ever going to disappear, but fortunately most people see racism as a sin and try
to support equality in every way they can.
