ABCD Model

Situational Awareness (SA)
refers to the degree of accuracy by which one's perception of the current environment mirrors reality.
The ABCD mnemonic visual reminder (Icon) assists in the recall of the concepts and principles behind the
ABCD's and improves communications during the event. ABCD mnemonic provides a common language
and structure for a measured response when an individual, team, or crew is executing a routine task, or
when under duress from a more complex situation resulting from added conditions, crew factors or task
loading
