Part 2: Complete the lab report.
Lymphatic System Lab Report
1. Purpose:
Please state the purpose of the lab.
The purpose of the lab is to know and understand the lymphatic system by
recognizing the organs in the human body, what it consists of and where it is
located.
I was able to explore the lymphatic system and where it can be found in so
many different places and the multiple roles it performs.
2. Procedure:
Briefly discuss the procedure for this lab.
Recognizing the major lymphatic organs
Identifying the components of lymphatic
tissue Distinguishing the structures within
lymph node Recognizing the major
lymphatic vessels.
1. Data and Details:
a. List the 4 components of the lymphatic system described in the
introduction.
1. Lymphatic fluid – Is a clear fluid similar in composition to blood
plasma
2. Lymphatic vessels – are thin vessels that accompany arteries
and veins throughout the body and transport lymph.
3. Lymphatic tissue – is a specialized form of reticular connective
tissue that is composed of masses of lymphocytes.
4. Lymphatic organs – include the lymph nodes, which filter the
fluid that flows through the lymphatic vessels, spleen,
thymus and red bone marrow.
b. List 2 primary organs of the lymphatic
system Bone marrow
Thymus gland
