Supervision
Right supervision - delegating nurse must
-Provide supervision, either directly or indirectly (by assigning supervision to another licensed nurse);
-Provide clear directions and understandable expectations;
-Monitor performance;
-Provide feedback;
-Intervene if necessary;
-Evaluate client to determine if client outcomes met;
-Identify needs for quality improvement activities and/or additional resources
Leadership styles
Authoritative - makes decision for the group;
Democratic - includes group when decisions are made;
Laissez-faire - makes very few decisions and does little planning
