CLAIMS ESTABLISHMENT EXAM {GRADED A}

CEST process - ✔✔is used to establish controls for pending Compensation and
Pension (C&P) live and death claims on the Veterans Network (VETSNET), Pending
Issue File (PIF), and on the VBA Corporate database. The VBA corporate database
contains critical data to support the case management of many types of C&P claims.
, Accessing CEST - ✔✔You as the VSR will enter as much information as possible
during the CEST process. This information will help determine the proper development
action in VBMS. The information from the Share CEST will update the Corporate
database.
CEST Benefit Types - ✔✔for Share Claims Establishment are C&P Death (CPD) and
C&P Live (CPL).

pension, and accured benefits - ✔✔used to initiate a claim for CPD.

a claim for CPL.

End Products system - ✔✔is a workload management tool that tracks the progress of a
claim for benefits in its individual stages. The EP remains pending until all required
actions on that claim have been completed. You must promptly establish the EP upon
receipt of a claim.
Role of the Service Organization and POA - ✔✔are invaluable to the claimant in that
they can help gather evidence required to support a claim and can represent the
claimant in matters that pertain to VA.
