His wife is present and questioning liver transplant options. The student(s) is expected to provide information and manage different options regarding organ transplant as well as quality of life issues to a noncompliant patient. E 0 u c E "' ~ I: Q) -;;; 0 Educational Rationale This scenario is developed as one out of 20 Simulation in Nursing Education Volume II scenarios that address major learning objectives applicable to all types of undergraduate nursing programs. The simulation scenarios are designed to encourage students to assess and manage the patients by identifying key indicators to allow critical interventions to be performed. The scenarios are designed to provide fidelity within the simulation, determine the appropriate level of complexity, imbed cues and provide adequate debriefing opportunities using the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies. The scenarios are specifically developed for use with the SimMan simulator and the SimMan Essential and SimMan 3G simulators utilizing Instructor Mode, Classic View.
