,Targets:
S – To Perform a pass effectively with Control and Patience within a game situation. I will create a game-like situation to teach students
how to create and fina a good pass using coordination, time and space. I will also tell pupils the best way to block passes and how to break
the opposition team’s passing options. At the end, I will assess the students’ understanding by creating a conditioned game. I will expect
students to pass successfully. I will also expect the defending team to mark players and spot when someone is going to receive the ball
and intercept the pass.
M – Throughout the training session, I will monitor and watch over each individual participant and compare their performance and
accuracy of passing. I will contrast their passing at the beginning of the performance during the main skill and at the end during the
conditioned game. This will allow me to measure their performance and how it has improved.
A – My aim for this training session is to also show performers the different passes they can do such as ground passes, volley passes and
chest passes. However, If I feel that the performers are struggling then I will only allow them to do ground and volley passes as they are
more easier than chest and head passes. Starting with an progressive difficulty from ground, volley, chest passes.
R – This training session is suitable for the performers as many of them have previous knowledge in football and understand the bare
minimum of the game. This will then allow me to develop their skills by improving their passing performance.
T – This training session has time limits under each activity. This will allow me to swiftly move onto each activity. Also, it will allow
performers to stay engaging with me as the leader and reduces boredom.

Leadership Delivery: Situational
The Leadership delivery that I will be using is Situational Leadership. This delivery of leadership changes depending on factors such as situation/environment
or goals/objectives. I may also consider the team’s needs/wants and likes/dislikes. With this delivery style I will show that good effective leadership does not
come from a specific method or attribute but it comes from the situation. For example, I may ask the types of passes that they are confident and can do. So
then I will focus more on difficult passes like chest pass or head pass. Situational leadership will allow me to analyse and monitor each individual team
member. This will then allow me to change my sessions accordingly to strengths/weaknesses and if the group is finding the exercise too hard or too easy. I
can implement this during the conditioned game and decrease the number of passes if the participants find this too hard and increase the number of passes to
,score a goal if the group is finding it too easy. However, Considering the opinions of the group may cause me to lose focus on the present moments and the
training session. This may cause me to not be able to move swiftly to the next training exercise and could result in me not being able to have an effective
training session as during the conditioning game there may be less time at that exercise. Therefore, performers will have less time to implement their new
passing skills in a game-like situation. Overall, I believe Situational Leadership is a positive leadership delivery method as the Situational Leadership approach
allows me to keep everyone engaged with the session and leaves everybodies opinions heard and discussed.

Leadership Style: Paternalistic
The Leadership style that I will be using is Paternalistic Leadership. This style of leadership will cause me to be in a dominant authority position where I act as
a patriarch and treat everyone with respect and equality. I showed this as I talked in a clear and formal manner that allowed me to gain the attention and
respect of the group. In exchange by doing this leadership style I will be able to allow the performers to remain focused and engaged with me when I am
demonstrating exercises, speaking and offering feedback. This will also make the group feel satisfied as they are all treated equally and everyone feels
comfortable. As the session progresses performers will gain more confidence as well as knowledge on how to perform a pass with control and accuracy.
During the Main Skill I will use paternalistic leadership style as I will encourage players to push themselves to increase their motivation and hence their
performance. Each time a player makes a successful pass with control and accuracy I will praise them and this will cause them to stay engaged with the
session and not feel left out. I will also reward Good behaviour and positive work ethic by offering praise. At the end of the session, I will offer constructive
criticism to the performers on what they did well (strengths) and what they can improve on (weaknesses). However, I will need to make sure that I am mentally
prepared as paternalistic leadership is quite difficult as it creates huge responsibility on the leader. This may cause me to feel overwhelmed or stressed when
delivering the training session. Therefore, resulting in an ineffective training session. Overall, I believe that Paternalistic Leadership style allows me to maintain
control of the group and allows me to push performers to work to their best potential during the session whilst also not keeping the session boring or dull.

What other style may have been effective? Autocratic
As an alternative Leadership style I may consider using an Autocratic approach. This style of leadership will cause me to remain incharge and controlled of the
session as I will be deciding on decisions e.g changes in difficulty by myself. For example, I could not discuss with group members about the types of passes
that they are already confident in and the ones that they need more coaching on. This allows me to keep the session running from activity to activity swiftly as
well as also allowing participants to push themselves as some may choose an easier difficulty as they may feel lazy or not bored to participate. This will allow
me to not later feel confused or hesitant with moving on to the next activity as I will not take any opinions/wishes from the students. However, this Leadership
Style may cause participants to not feel involved and engaged as I am not listening to their thoughts, this can lead to them not pushing themselves enough as
they do not desire to train in that aspect in the sport e.g they may want to improve their shooting accuracy. Overall, this Style helps leaders to be able to
portray all their training and targets to the group within that session.
