-A candidate can only take the exam for which their program was designed

what happens if the candidate fails the AANP exam?
•The exam may not be taken more than twice in a calendar year
•Candidates will receive an official score letter with their score and feedback on their strongest/weakest
testing domains
•15 hours of advanced continuing education in their weakest areas before becoming eligible to retest
•Must re-apply online using the Retake Application

describe the ANCC certification exam
•Questions are in a multiple-choice, drop and drag, hot spot, and multiple responses.
•They are designed to objectively assess entry-level competency in the APRN and validate nursing practice
specialties, as well as interprofessional practice in specialty fields.
•Exams are criterion-referenced tests
•Each exam contains 150 items plus 25 pilot test items that do not count towards the final score. Total = 175
