Purpose of Assessment in Rehabilitation -

Comprehensive Assessment: Intake interview -
\The intake interview generates a social-vocational hx, which is useful in formulating the
rehabilitation plan and in determining whether subsequent evaluations are needed
based in questions that the consumer can answer directly.
5 steps of an intake interview -
\1. Discuss the person's reason for rehabilitation services.
2. Provide the individual with necessary information about the role and function of the
agency.
3.Develop an adequate rapport.
4. Initiate the diagnostic process.
5. Inform the client of any medical, vocational, or psychological evaluation that must be
completed and the purposes of such evaluations.

\Are assessments yield information regarding client's intelligence aptitude,
achievement , personality, interests, and adjustments related to vocational functioning
The Purpose of Psychological Assessment -
\1. To present the appropriateness of long-term vocational training
2. To introduce the need for adjustment services
3 To confront the consumer regarding unrealistic vocational choices

correlations indicate relationships between scores obtained by clients within the same
group on 2 administrations of the test.
Split-half reliability -
\Measure of the internal consistency of a test or measuring device. A test is divided into
2 halves and the scores on the halves are compared to see if the test is cosistant within
itself. Odds+ Evens is the best way to do this.
parallel forms reliability -
\A parallel form correlation indicates consistency of scores of individuals within the
same group on two alternate but equivalent forms of the same test taken at the same
time.
