Aging Worksheet Reflection
As children we frequently look forward to the day, we can be adults. We dream about
what we will be when we grow up. As teenagers we look forward to the day, we are eighteen in
order to be legally considered adults and break away from our parents. We then look forward to
age twenty-one, so we can legally drink. Aging comes with pros and cons. While most of the
pros are in early to middle adulthood, there are few in late adulthood. In early and middle
adulthood, we undergo physical transformations where many become a more attractive version
of their younger selves. Unfortunately, as we age into middle and late adulthood, we also
encounter the issue of cardiovascular health. The heart walls thin and fat begins to form around
the heart. This is something that can be prevented by maintaining a proper diet and exercise
regimen. Our cognitive health is another topic that gets better before it gets worse. Our
experience and ability to focus is great during early adulthood. However, our memories in late
adulthood are not so great. It is a use it or lose it battle. In order to aid in maintaining positive
memory we should exercise our mind. Socioemotional must be one of the most interesting for
me. As we grow older, we develop stronger relationships with our peers and have a much better
sense of what a real friendship is. In the negative aspect, we have smaller social circles in late
