Electronic Health Records (EHR) are common in
most healthcare settings. According to the Office of
the National Coordinator for Health Information
Technology (ONC), as cited by Thurston (2014),
just two decades ago less than 20% of out of
hospital physicians used EHR’s while in 2013 more
than two-thirds were using EHR’s (Thurston, 2014).
In 2014 approximately 75% of hospitals were using
EHR’s (Goldstein, Navar, Pencina, Ioannidis, 2017).
Accepting EHR’s can have substantial upfront cost,
it becomes imperative we look at the positive side
of EHR’s and understand they can help save lives,
