Draw up plans to assess the design of a website aimed at meeting a
specified purpose.
Introduction
In this assignment it is needed to draw up and list what the evaluation of the design and
ongoing launch plans are for the website that it was created by me in the P4 task. Therefore
it will be analysed the 7 steps that are needed for website evaluation when testing it.The 7
steps are:
● Completing all system testing and quality assurance – focuses
on usability issues
● Ensure you use ordinary testers
● Create a test plan for each page saying what should be tested
and what the outcome/result should be.
● Test website on all web browsers and programs
● Senior project leaders should prioritise what should be
tested first.
● Conduct at least 3 rounds of testing
● Once site is launched conduct a final test online.
About the website:
Complying with all the requirements set by British Heart Foundation i have created a website
for them in correspondence to their aims and objectives. While creating the website i was
guided by some points in order to make the website run smoothly with all is needed to meet
the requirements for meeting the purpose of the organisation. The points are that the website
has to be easy to use and navigate, that the visitors can easily find who to contact in order to
get more information, that the website is visually appealing and the visitors enjoys looking at
the site, that the site is accessible through a range of browsers and finally that the website
meets the requirements of the Disability Discrimination regulations on website accessibility.
Website’s aims: to encourage visitors to take part in the Gym project by informing them with
enough information about the BHF organisation and the new Gym information
Website’s objective: to promote the activities of BHF and reach a broader audience
Why should we evaluate?
The evaluation of a website is very important as it easily detects the errors therefore it allows
the designer to make improvements and avoid any mistakes regarding to the launched
website. Therefore by evaluating the website after finishing it it helps the designer to ensure
that his own website is meeting the needs and wants of its targeted market. In addition these
process helps to be user friendly and allows the new user to navigate on it without any
interruptions and errors. For example if a new site is not user friendly or does not meet the
expectation of the target audience, it can cost the user dearly.
The 1 step is: To complete all system testing and quality assurance – focuses on usability
issues
On this step i would look in deep and complete all the system testing based on the usability
features and the way preventing mistakes and errors on the website.
