According to Spotify (n.d.), they are the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription
service, with more than 602 million users, including 236 million subscribers in more 180 markets.
Their mission is to unlock the potential of human creativity by giving a million creative artists the
opportunity to live off their art and billions of fans the opportunity to enjoy and be inspired by it.
Spotify offers two tiers to enjoy their platform; the tiers are known as free and paid subscriptions.
Although it is free, the company can still earn funds from the free-tier service through
advertisements that are inserted between music and audio played by the users.
In 2008, Spotify was launched as a music and audio streaming platform worldwide. It has already
been 16 years in the music and audio market, with significant growth every year. Launched in its
home country, Sweden, and in other countries such as the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain,
Finland, and Norway.
According to a research firm MIDiA, Spotify continues to hold the top spot in the world of music
streaming, with a global market share of 31%. Also, even with its rivals like Apple Music and
Amazon Music, with 172 million users as of October 2021, Spotify continues to dominate the
market at a remarkable rate. Although its lead has somewhat decreased over time—from 34% in
