ABP - Able Bodied Passenger a person who volunteers or is nominated to assist the CC in an evacuation ACP - Attendant Control Panel a unit that consist of hardware controls and a touch screen in an a/c fitted with the Boeing Sky Interior. AED - Automated External Defibrillator A/C - Aircraft AFT - Towards the rear (tail) of the ac AIRBRIDGE - Manoeuvrable enclosed walkway for passengers to board and disembark from the aircraft directly from and to the terminal building AIRCREW - All crew required to operate a flight includes Flight and CC. AIRSTAIRS - Folding boarding/disembarking stairs which are self-stowing beneath the main passenger door APU - Auxiliary Power Unit small engine below tail of ac which provides electrical power while ac is on the ground ASSIST SPACE - A defined area at each emergency door allocated for CC to stand in for the purpose of evacuating passengers without causing an obstruction at the exit.BLUETHOOTH - A standardized protocol for sending and receving data via wireless link. Only low power Bluethooth is allowed on Ryanair ac, defined as devices with a maximum power output less or equal to 2.5mW (Class 2 and Class 3). Class 1 shall be treated as WiFi devices. BRACE POSITION - A position adopted, when seated, by all passengers and CC during an emergency landing. It helps to minimise injuries which result from forced body movements. BSI - Boeing Sky Interior CABIN CREW - an aircrew member other than Flight Crew Member, who performs in the interest of safety passengers and duties assigned by the operator or the Captain of the ac. CB - Circuit Breaker these are all the black buttons type things that are located behind the pilot seats and also in the galley. CC - Cabin Crew CSA - Cabin Service Agent CSS - Customer Service Supervisor - a rostering code referring to No 1. DIRECT ACCESS ROW SEGMENT - A row segment in which there is at least one direct access seat. DIRECT ACCESS - A seat from which a passenger can proceed directly to the exit without entering an aisle or passing around an obstruction. DRILL - A sequence of actions which should be followed. EASA - European Aviation Safety AgencyDITCHING - An emergency landing on water by an ac. DIVERSION - When the ac does not land at its intended destination. Can be due to bad weather, fuel requirements, medical emergency, bomb alert, etc. EFB - Electronic Flight Bag FCI - Flight Crew Instruction FWD - Forward - toward the front (nose) of the aircraft FLIGHT CREW - The Captain and First Officer. FLIGHT DECK - The cockpit - The area where the pilots sit FR - IATA assigned prefix to all Ryanair flight number FUSELAGE - The body of the aircraft GIRT APRON - Piece of heavy material which connects the evacuation device to the girt bar. GIRT BAR - A metal bar used to attach the escape device stowed in the slide compartment (bustle) to the aircraft floor. When the girt bar is inserted in the floor fittings, the door is armed or ready for use in an emergency. When the girt bar is not attached to the aircraft floor, the door is disarmed or ready for use in the normal mode. GPU - Ground Power Unit used intead of the APU to provide electrical power on the groundHOLD - A compartment in the lower deck where baggage and cargo is stowed IAA - Irish Aviation Authority Government Department regulating ac operations in Ireland
