What is the Accuplacer?
A college placement test. The Accuplacer is a set of computerized tests that determines a students'
skill level in math and/or English.
When should an applicant take the Accuplacer?
Typically done after application is completed. But if you are an adult (haven't been to school in a
while) or don't know what program would suit you best you are welcome to take the exam before
applying to a program, just to get a better idea of where to would excel.
Why should an applicant take the Accuplacer test?
The results of the assessment enable us to provide students with crucial early guidance in course
placement/selection.
Its used to determine your skills in sentence skills, writing, (essay) and arithmetic, elementary algebra,
and college level math.
Can you take the Accuplacer Remotely?
Yes!
An applicant can take the test either in-person, at NCC or remotely, from home.
How can an applicant schedule an Accuplacer test?

schedule a testing time
Does the Accuplacer test cost anything?
Accuplacer is a free!
How long do I have to take the test?
Yes, its an untimed test, with multiple sections, taken in proctored sessions.
How many times can you retake the test?
you can retake any section up to 3 times
Who do we advise should take the Accuplacer?
An applicant who graduated more than 3 years ago from high school. If the applicant has never taken
college level math or English.
