THE FUN THEY HAD

Summary(only for reading) : ‘The Fun They
Had’ is a story of future time, which will take
the reader to a succeeding virtual world
where computers and digital devices use to
be essential for students in their academic
learning. This story consists of the
characters namely – Margie, Tommy, and
Mrs. Jones(Margie’s mother). The other
major characters are not human but a
mechanical teacher and a county inspector
who supervises the teachers. The story
takes place in the year 2157, where no book
is printed. In such period of time, the
children find a real book of ancient time
having school stories written in it. They start
comparing their studies with the old schools,
i.e. the offline study with their digital mode
of studying. At first, their thoughts didn’t
match with the old school system, but
gradually they end up fantasizing about
what was written about the old schools. The
characters in the story, living in the virtual
, world, got involved in thinking about offline
schools and group study stuff in the end.
