fire-related incidents in KSA, critically examine the fire and safety regulations in the United Kingdom
and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, compare and analyse how fire safety regulations differ between the
two kingdoms and from the findings of the analysis propose a framework for achieving improved fire
safety for council houses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For purposes of the study, a qualitative
approach was employed all aimed at discovering the thoughts, views and opinions of the respondents
collected through deployment of semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions. This results
section will present findings from the analysis that was conducted in the collected data. The section will
be organized according to the research objectives.
The number of Fire Incident’s by City
The data on the number of fire incidents by city per 100,000 population was determined. Of all the cities,
Turubah had the highest number of incidents per 100,000 population with an average of 75 incidents.
This was followed by Bahrah with an average of 50 incidents. The cities with the least number of fire
incidents per 100,000 population were Maysaan and Ranyah with an average of 8 and five incidents
respectively. All the other cities had an average number of incidents of about 38 incidents per 100, 000
people. It is evidently clear that there is a huge variation in the number of incidents between the first city
and the second city which can be explained by a number of factors but most importantly the disaster
preparedness of the different cities for occurrence of such incidents. Below is a graph of the average
number of fire incidents per 100,000 population for the various cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
