Introduction : ‘Long Walk To Freedom’ is an
autobiography of Nelson Mandela, in which his struggle
against apartheid for his nation- South Africa is shared
in words. He believes courage is not absence of fear,
but the triumph over it.
Summary : Rolihlahla Mandela, the writer of
autobiography ‘Long Walk to Freedom’, has shared his
experience of 10th May, 1994 when he pledged to
uphold South Africa’s Constitution as the first(& former)
black president. The chapter is an extract from his
, novel, that summarizes his journey till he became
freedom fighter. Mandela shares a part of his speech,
the significance of the ceremony and the perfect point
of arrangements of that inauguration day/event. Then,
he shares his emotions about the African patriots and
their efforts to give liberty to their national people.
Lastly, Nelson Mandela writes about his life, how he
lived in the racial discrimination, how the hunger of
freedom rose to him, and what did he struggle to
achieve this honour.
