Wat is cloud?
Cloud computing is een service die pooling van resources gebruikt om zo on-demand, (as a)
service complexe systemen uit te rollen. Voorbeeld is Microsoft Azure.
Cloud deployment models
- Private: gaat om wie de baas is van de hardware
- Public: AWS, dropbox, Microsoft Azure
- Hybrid: private cloud in combinatie met Office 365
- Cummunity: overheidsgebruik
Kenmerken van cloud:
- On-demand self-service
- Broad network access
- Resource pooling (multi-tenant)
- Rapid elasticity
- Measured service

- SaaS (software as a service): software/applicaties draaien op cloud infra
- PaaS (platform as a service): software/applicaties ontwikkelen
- IaaS (infrastructure as a service): zelf cloud infra beheersen

Wat is Cloud Automation?
Automatisering strekt zich uit tot de software laag, waar complexe systemen eenmaal kunnen
worden geconfigureerd en vervolgens on-the-fly worden uitgerold indien nodig, met behulp van
cloud automatiseringstools.
Wat is Cloud Orchestration?
Cloud orchestration beschrijft het arrangeren en coördineren van geautomatiseerde taken,
uiteindelijk resulterend in een geconsolideerd proces of workflow.
Waarom cloud automation/ Orchestration?
Huidige systemen zijn vaak:
- Complexity
- Inefficiency
- Inflexibility
Wat is Cloud Provisioning?
Cloud provisioning is het toewijzen van resources van een cloudprovider aan een klant.
- Automated provisioning (alles wordt geautomatiseerd aangevraagd)
- De-provisioning (intrekken van de resources)
- Over-provisioning (te veel resources -> te veel betaald)
- Under-provisioning (te weinig resources)

- Pay-as-you-go model: Is a payment method for cloud computing that charges based on
usage.
- Reservation-pool model: All the resources you allocate are immediately committed to the
organization virtual datacentre
- Allocation-pool model (A percentage of the resources you allocate from the provider virtual
datacenter are committed to the organization virtual datacenter).
