Scalp
The scalp, comprising the skin, connective tissue, and underlying muscles, covers the top of the skull. It serves as a protective barrier for the skull and brain, while also housing hair follicles. Blood vessels in the scalp provide nourishment to the hair follicles, aiding in hair growth. The scalp is rich in nerve endings, making it sensitive to touch, pressure, and temperature. Additionally, the scalp plays a role in regulating body temperature by aiding in heat dissipation. Proper care, including regular washing and moisturizing, is essential for maintaining scalp health and promoting healthy hair growth.
