Shoulder joint
The shoulder joint, or glenohumeral joint, is a ball-and-socket joint formed by the head of the humerus and the glenoid fossa of the scapula. It's the body's most mobile joint, allowing for a wide range of motion, including flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, and rotation of the arm. The joint is stabilized by surrounding ligaments, tendons, and muscles, including the rotator cuff. However, this mobility also makes it prone to injuries such as dislocations, rotator cuff tears, and osteoarthritis. Proper strengthening exercises and maintaining flexibility can help prevent injuries and promote shoulder joint health.
