known for its beautiful sandy beaches, sheltered coves
and Roman remains. The capital city of Majorca is Palma
which is one of the worlds sailing hotspots.

In the summer of this year (2018) there were many ‘anti-tourism’ protests in city
centres, beaches, airports and popular tourist attractions. The pressure group
Arran are trying to decline tourism in Majorca by chanting ‘Go home’ and
‘Tourism is killing Majorca’ to tourists. The group threw eggs on tourist coaches,
slashed tourist bike tyres with knifes, superglued locks of tourist establishments
and also threw confetti at foreign customers inside of a local restaurant. This has
caused health and safety concerns as it is unsure how far this group is willing to
