Supervision Of COTA, OT And Aides-
Comprehensive Guide.
Close Supervision -
\daily, direct contact at the site of work
Routine Supervison -
\Direct contact every 2 weeks at site by phone or written
General Supervision -
\at least monthly direct contact with supervision available as needed by other methods
Minimal Supervision -
\On as needed bases and maybe less than monthly
Direct Supervision -
\Face to face ( co-treatment, observation, instruction, molding and discussion)
Indirect Supervision -
\Non face to face (electronic, written and telephone communication)
OT Aides Roles -
\Can't practice OT tasks or skilled OTA tasks
Can perform supportive "nonskilled" tasks
Ex. Preparation of clinic area for intervention organizing supplies contact guarding client
Supervision Information -
\OTs can supervise OTs (no one else)
OT Aides cannot supervise OT Practice
OTs are responsible and accountable for ALL aspects of OT service delivery
OTAs MUST be supervised by OTs
OTAs can expand their role by establishing -
