7.1 Rationale/Background of the Study
These days, having an efficient and reliable
information for every municipality is essential to all
people. Tourism plays an essential role in the economic and
cultural development of cities around the world. Travelers
seek unique experiences and rely heavily on information
sources to make informed decisions about their travel
plans. Among these sources, tourist information guides
occupy a special place. This rationale explores the
importance of tourist information guides and their
significant impact on urban tourism. Bauko possesses
potential as a tourist destination. However, one of the
primary challenges that Bauko faces in fully realizing its
tourism potential is the significant lack of information
and promotion regarding its tourism offerings. This study
aims to comprehensively analyze the impacts of the lack of
tourism information in Bauko.
Hence, the researchers proposed an application called
TPack that assists tourists in finding reliable information
about Bauko. Instead of wasting time searching for
information, this application surely helps them by
providing reliable information about restaurants, home

inns, hotels, tourist spots, and local products. Users can
also obtain directions to the businesses/establishments
they choose to visit.
TPack was created for mobile applications specifically
for Android devices through android software development
tools. The main purpose of it is to provide a travel guide
system for tourists of Bauko Mountain Province.
7.2 Summary
The main objective of this study was to design and
develop TPack, a tourist information guide mobile
application for tourist of Bauko.
Specifically, this study aimed to do the following:
1. to identify the information requirements of the
proposed system;
2. to design architecture framework of the proposed
system;
3. to identify the features of the proposed system;
and 4. To measure the extent of the usability of the
proposed system.
The researchers utilized Rapid Application Development
(RAD), it is aimed at providing quick results, rapid
application development that is meant to give excellent
development processes. It is a continuous evolution of
development philosophies according to the requirement at
that time. The researchers have chosen the methodology for
they can alter the application features, create different
prototypes with different features and functions to meet
desired requirements of the research.
The benefits of Rapid Application Development
methodology are it has quicker delivery, with quicker
adjustments, fewer errors, lower development cost and lower
maintenance costs.
7.3 Findings
Based on the objectives of the study, the researchers
came up with the following findings discussing:
1. Information requirements needed for the system were
the user information, software requirements, and hardware
requirements. The user information includes the basic
details for authentication like username, email, and
password for sign-in and sign-up credentials. The software
and hardware requirements were distinguished based on their
specific specs.
