Coronary circulation
Coronary circulation refers to the circulation of blood in the blood vessels that supply the heart muscle (myocardium). These vessels, known as coronary arteries, deliver oxygen and nutrients to the heart tissue while removing waste products. Coronary circulation is crucial for maintaining the health and function of the heart. If these arteries become narrowed or blocked due to conditions like atherosclerosis, it can lead to serious complications such as heart attacks or myocardial infarctions. Regular exercise, a healthy diet, and managing risk factors like high cholesterol and blood pressure are essential for supporting optimal coronary circulation and heart health.
