As is public knowledge, the case involving Stormy Daniels and
Donald Trump arose primarily from the complaint of attorney
Michael Cohen, who was Trump's personal attorney. In 2018, Cohen
testified that he had paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels, an adult film
actress, before the 2016 presidential election to buy her silence
about an alleged sexual affair with Trump. Cohen claimed he made
the payment out of pocket at Trump's direction, and with the goal
of influencing the election. This revelation led to the beginning of
legal investigations into possible campaign finance violations and
other crimes.
This is just one of several lawsuits that candidate Trump has
pending.
