Urinary Bladder
The urinary bladder is a hollow, muscular organ located in the pelvis responsible for storing urine before it is expelled from the body through the urethra. It expands as it fills with urine, and its smooth muscle walls contract during urination to expel urine from the body. The bladder's capacity varies depending on individual factors such as age and health. Its lining is made of transitional epithelium, which allows it to stretch without tearing. Control over urination is regulated by the nervous system, particularly the brain and spinal cord, which coordinate signals to relax or contract the bladder muscles.
