I will describe both these theories and how it affects human behavior. I also will explain if either theory has social privileges or oppression. The last thing I will discuss is how these theories relate to social work practice. The first theory I will be discussing is Sigmund Freud's theory. This theory is about psychosexual development. According to (Cherry, 2020) "Freud suggests that as children develop, they will progress through a series of psychosexual stages. At each stage the libido's pleasure-seeking energy focused on different body parts". Sigmund Freud was a psychologist who worked on his theory while working with adults with disabilities. His theory is also centered around the parents playing a major role in their child's sexual and violent behaviors during their young years.
