Step 1
With the independant & automatic brake valve handles in RELEASE position, apply the the
independent brake.


Step 2
After observing brakes apply on each locomotive, release the independent brakes.


Step 3
When brakes are released on all locomotives, make a 10 psi brake pipe reduction using the automatic
brake valve.


Step 4
After brakes apply on all locomotives, actuate and observe independent brakes release on all
locomotives.


Step 5
Reduce brake pipe pressure an additional 10 psi with the automatic brake valve and determine all
locomotive brakes reapply.


Step 6
Cut out the automatic brake valve.


Step 7
Observe gauges to verify that equalizing reservoir indicates no leakage and that brake pipe leakage
does not exceed 5 psi per minute.


Step 8
Move automatic bvrake valve handle to RELEASE position and cut the brake valve in.


Step 9
Determine that all brakes release.

Fully apply independent brakes upon successful completion of this test,.
