NUR 513 Topic 5 Assignment: Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement. My worldview has been molded and evolved throughout the course of my life and career. Multiple factors can influence a person’s worldview. Things that have impacted my worldview is my upbringing by a single mother, my family, my knowledge, and my patients. My life experiences have cultivated me into the person I am today. Three aspects of my worldview are ethical decisions, a strong knowledge base, and trust in others. No one persons worldview is better than anyone else’s. Each person’s worldview comes from personal experiences and may not fit into others world. There is no right or wrong with worldviews. “People nowadays construct their own personal worldview, which is not necessarily based on one specific organized worldview and therefore it can be more eclectic and idiosyncratic than an organized worldview” (van der Kooij, de Ruyter, & Miedema, 2015, p. 347).
