• They have anatomically different dorsal and ventral side
• Their mesophyll is differentiated into upper palisade and spongy tissues
• Mostly seen in dicots
• Isobilateral leaf:
• They have anatomically similar dorsal and ventral side
• Their mesophyll is not differentiated
• Mostly seem in monocots
