Could you pad faradic electrodes any differently? - correct answer-Yes, I could use
split-padding method where I can the negative electrode on the belly of the muscle [trigger
point] and the positive pole on any area close to the muscle. Because the current flows from
negative to positive, the trigger point is stimulated and the muscles contracts. This method is
most beneficial when insertion and origin are hard to reach, or when the muscle is too small
for two electrodes
Faradic- what current are you using? - correct answer-Interrupted, direct current
, Full day makeup application - correct answer-Foundation- with sponges
Powder- no double dipping
Blush- no double dipping
3 colors of eyeshadow- disposable applicator; no double dipping
Eyeliner- sharpen before use; no automatic pencils allowed
Mascara- with disposable wand; no double sipping
Eyebrow pencil
Lip liner- sharpen before using; no automatic pencils allowed
Lipstick- applied with disposable lip brush; no double dipping
G5- what kind of treatment are you performing? - correct answer-A mechanical message
HF- do the gases exit the electrode into the skin? - correct answer-No. Glass is an insulator.
All it does is create static electricity on the outside of the glass
High Frequency- what are the gases from? - correct answer-Their electrons are excited by
the HF current, which makes the glass vibrate at a very high speed. This vibration is passed
on to the skin cells for activation. The oxygen in the air around the electrode gets excited for
activation. The oxygen in the air around the electrode gets excited too, which produces
ozone. The ozone gives the germicidal effect
High Frequency- what does this current do? - correct answer-It creates static electricity,
which activates all cell functions, and it creates ozone for a germicidal effect
High Frequency- what is in the glass electrode? - correct answer-Either neon or Argon gas
High Frequency- what type of current are you using? - correct answer-A high frequent
alternating current
How are you placing interferential electrodes? And why is this beneficial? - correct answer-I
place the center [crossing point] of the electrodes on the belly of the muscle [trigger point];
the trigger point is stimulated and the muscle contracts.
This method is most beneficial because the interference of the 2 circuits creates the
interferential current about 2 inches away from the electrodes - deep in the body. Therefore
the muscle gets directly stimulated without the currents need to hit through the skin and
connective tissue to reach the muscle. This feels more comfortable for the client than an
interrupted direct current.
How deep do you vacuum the skin into the ventouses? - correct answer-Maximum 1/3 inch
[1cm]
How do you begin interferential treatment after electrodes have been placed? - correct
answer-1. Warm up phase - I first set the machine to 100 Hz constant and increase intensity
to the point where the clients feels a tingle [no muscle contractions are possible at this
frequency] for the to get used to the feel of the current
2. Workout phase - after 5 minutes I turn down intensity to 0 and set the machine to 10 Hz. I
increase intensity again until the client feels the tingle. I then let the 'wheel' run until it
reaches 2 Hz, and increase intensity to where muscle contractions are visible as strong as
