According to the M.G.L definition of a motor vehicle, what would be considered a motor
vehicle?
cars, trucks, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, recreation vehicles, snow vehicles, and all
vehicles being towed.
Who is considered an "operator" in regard to operation of a motor vehicle?
A person is 'operating' a motor vehicle whenever they are inside the vehicle and intentionally
manipulate some mechanical or electrical part of the vehicle which, alone or in sequence,
will set the vehicle in motion.

Is there a time limit for filling out a uniform citation?
officers must fill out the uniform citation as completely as possible and as soon as possible in
relation to the time the violation was committed.
How should an officer fill out a uniform citation?
Officers should use block lettering and press down hard enough to ensure all carbon copies
are legible.
How many days does someone have to get a newly registered vehicle inspected?
7 Days
What does an inspection sticker with a red "R" on it mean?
The vehicle failed a safety equipment inspection. Vehicles cannot be driven on the road until
repairs are made.
