NONPF - ANS-The only organization specifically dedicated to promoting & supporting
high quality NP education.
NONPF - ANS-Provides ongoing support to NP educators through establishing
competencies, methods of evaluation, & strategic partnerships.
Tertiary - ANS-Concerned with reducing the impact of an ongoing illness & injury that
has lasting effects. ex. cardiac or stroke rehab programs, support groups.
Secondary - ANS-Concerned with trying to detect a disease early & prevent it from
getting worse. ex. regular exams & screening tests.
Primary - ANS-Concerned with the prevention of the onset of disease, goal is to reduce
the incidence of disease. ex. vaccinations.
PANS - ANS-A clinical diagnosis given to children who have a dramatic practically
overnight, onset of neuropsychiatric symptoms including OCD &/or eating disorder
PANDAS - ANS-Pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with strep;
this is a subset of PANS
Secure attachment - ANS-Easily comforted & resumes play & exploration when mother
returns.
Avoidant attachment - ANS-characterized by child's unresponsiveness to parent, does
not use the parent as a secure base, and does not care if parent leaves
Ambivalent/preoccupied attachment - ANS-Not easily soothed & remains preoccupied;
vigilantly scanning for mothers whereabouts
Disorganized/disoriented attachment - ANS-Has not developed a consistent strategy for
coping with the stress of separation.
Easy temperament - ANS-High rhythmicity, positive mood, approaches new situations
with moderate ease, is easily adaptable
Difficult temperament - ANS-More irregular, negative mood, withdraws from new
