Dependence Theory - ANS-wealthy (developed) countries are able to prosper at the
expense of peripheral (developing/underdeveloped) countries; poverty is integrated into
this system
Sovereignty - ANS-the ability of states to carry out actions or policies within a territory
independently from external factors or internal rivals; having independent legal authority
over a population in a particular territory based on a recognized right for
self-determination
Politics - ANS-the struggle in any group for power that will give one or more persons the
ability to make decision for the larger group
