1. Introduction

Privacy is a sense of protection that can make an individual feel safe and protected. Information
privacy is generally considered the protection of data from being disseminated (Solove and
Schwartz, 2020). In the 21st century, the use of technology and the internet makes the protection
of privacy more challenging. In this context, it can be stated that the use of technology as well as
internet-based advanced tools and techniques can put privacy at risk. On the other hand, there are
a few policies and practices that help to keep the breach or dissemination of data in check. "Fair
Information Practices (FIP)" is a term that helps to set a standard of protection. According to
Hartzog and Richards (2020), the collection of some privacy protection principles can help to
ensure the protection of personal data and even redress of privacy and accuracy issues.
The aim of this study is to identify the reasons behind some HealthCare organisations becoming
vulnerable to the use of information systems. In addition to this, the study also helps to
understand the challenges faced by HealthCare staff, customers and patients relating to data
security and internet usage. Moreover, the role of informed consent along with legislation and
other FIP practices in the protection of individual privacy will be accessed. Apart from this, a
discussion of two ways to protect intellectual property rights is also part of this study followed
by a few recommendations.

organisations being vulnerable as well as dependent. The dependency as well as vulnerability
results in various interconnected factors that range from organisational dynamics, cybersecurity
