Cosmetology - ANS-the practice of personal services, for compensation, for the
cosmetic care of the hair, nails, and skin. These services include cleaning, conditioning,

scalp, face, arms, hands, legs, feet, and trunk of the body, except where these services
are performed by a barber.

DLSM - ANS-Designated licensed salon manager
CE credits - ANS-After August 1 2017 a cosmetologist, nail technician, esthetician, or
salon manager renewing a license must complete 8 hours of CE credits from board
approved providers within three years prior to the date of license renewal.
Can a DLSM be be responsible for more than one salon? - ANS-No, a DLSM must not
be responsible for more than one salon UNLESS the salons are not open concurrently
AND the salons or DLSM attest in writing to the board of the business hours of both
salons.
Does the DLSM have to be present at all operating hours of the salon? - ANS-No, the
DLSM is not required to be present at all times during the salons operating hours but
remains responsible for compliance even when away from the salon.
