Self-Reflection

A career in HRM requires that I meet essential requirements while developing efficiency

in performing the required duties. Meeting HRM requirements entails that I achieve the required

certifications to begin and enhance a career in HRM. In addition, I am required to develop

efficiency in performing my roles and duties to meet HRM standards. In meeting HRM

requirements, I have nurtured my communication skills. However, in developing efficiency in

human resources, I struggle with public relations: hence the need to develop these skills.

My strengths in meeting HRM requirements lie in my communication skills.

Communication skills are crucial in meeting HR requirements since they help explain

organizational goals while eradicating barriers that block employee growth or development. HR

managers should be proficient in communicating employee requirements and also training.

My weakness in developing efficiency in HR lies in my poor labor relations. Good labor

relations help one conform to equal, fair, and just treatment of employees as they mobilize their

efforts in meeting organizational goals. Therefore, poor labor relations may derail my ability to

understand and supervise employees and workers concerning organizational needs.

Strong communication skills and good labor relations in meeting HR requirements and

developing HR effectiveness are primary in determining my career growth due to their

implications on successful governance. For one, strong communication skills will allow me to

impose my ideas as I influence others toward achieving similar goals and objectives. In addition,

leadership skills such as communication will promote a unified environment that allows for

inclusion, creativity, and collaboration while meeting HR requirements. On the other hand,

developing my labor relation skills is essential to my career development since it incorporates

HR in conducting business. Developing labor and HR skills can contribute to better decision-

making since they induce a sense of inclusion, responsibility, and accountability.

To meet HRM requirements and ensure efficiency in HRM, I plan to enroll in more

classes to boost my communication skills and attend seminars and training for leadership-related

talks and programs. These will help improve my HR skills as I learn new intrapersonal skills. To

disseminate my weakness in labor relations, I look to improve my social skills by interacting

more with people to learn how to relate and engage in productive meetings and conversations.

Specific: I want to meet HRM requirements by enrolling in short courses to implement

and improve my communication skills. Measurable: Attaining the highest level of certification in

the courses will indicate that I have garnered the necessary communication skills. Achievable: I

am interested in enhancing my career in HRM, so I will focus on meeting the requirements.

Relevant: Meeting HRM requirements through communication is among the first steps of

starting a career in HRM. Time: The courses will take six months to complete.

Specific: I want to enhance effectiveness in HRM by improving my social relations that

contribute to a company’s labor relations. Measurable: I will seek advice from HR managers to

nurture my social skills to improve my intrapersonal aspects in developing effectiveness in

HRM. Achievable: I look to interact more with people and share experiences to gain their

perspectives and psychological needs concerning employee requirements. Relevant: Social skills

are important in labor relations since HRM depends on the effectiveness of the employee-

employer relationship. Time: There is no time limit since it is a gradual process.

Human resource management is a broad area of study that requires one to evaluate their

strengths and weaknesses in guaranteeing productivity and sufficiency in the field. The goals to

strive for when studying the course are to meet Human Resource requirements and develop
