Why did you decide to pursue graduate studies in public health? - ✔✔I have always been interested in
pursuing a career in the health field. Throughout my undergrad, I took various classes that sparked my
interest in public health. I want a career that would allow me to have a hands on impact in the health
and lives of people around the world.
What do you know about our program? - ✔✔After researching, I found that that this program is CEPH
accredited and works on a trimester system. It is important to me to attend an accredited university,
which is one of the many reasons I applied to Thomas Jefferson and hope to attend in the future.
What other schools are you considering? - ✔✔I applied to 6 other master's programs.
In what ways have your previous experience prepared you for graduate study in our program? - ✔✔My
major at Penn State has heavily prepared me for future academia. I have shadowed individuals, worked
on projects, worked in a health care setting, and also conducted research of my own that showcases my
interest in Public Health.
What do you believe your greatest challenge will be if you are accepted into this program? - ✔✔I believe
my greatest challenge will be the academia that comes with earning a master's degree.
In college, what courses did you enjoy the most? The least? Why? - ✔✔I throughly enjoyed the many bio
behavioral health classes I took throughout undergrad. Bio behavioral health is essentially the biological
behaviors of individuals and how it affects their health. It was very interesting to me to learn about not
only the internal affairs of health but also the epidemiological aspects of health that emerge throughout
life.
The classes that I enjoyed the least were the chemistry classes. It was hard for me to struggle in a class
because that is not something I am used to. In the end, the classes made me a better student because I
