Kendriya Vidyalayas are the pioneer institutions in the field of Education focusing all round development of the students. Keeping in view of the implementation of CCE it is desired to prepare study/ support material for Class IX to guide the students in the right direction and to equip the students to face the challenges with ease. The purpose of this Study Material is to help learners study more effectively and efficiently. It is designed to help increase the retention of what they are studying for the purpose of using it more successfully at a later time—while taking a test. For the academic year 2012-13 the task has been allotted to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan ZONAL INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION & TRAINING, CHANDIGARH for preparation of study/ support material for Class IX Science. The development of content is based on the detailed survey feed back taken from the students on all the concepts from each unit.
