Biotische factoren, bacterie, virus, parasiet  infectieziekten.
Hoofdstuk 4-7: begrippen

Reservoirs:
1. Mens: mens op mens overdraagbaar.
2. Zoönose: van dier (gewerveld organisme) op mens overdraagbaar.
3. Vector: insecten (niet gewerveld organisme)
Mens- vector- mens: malariaparasiet.
Dier- vector- mens: pest.
4. Besmette oppervlakten: voedsel, water, aarde.

Asymptomatisch dragerschap: wel ziekteverwekker bij je dragen maar niet ziek zijn.

Virussen met envelop (dubbele lipiden laag) kunnen beter overleven buiten het lichaam,
bijvoorbeeld op besmette oppervlakten.

Belangrijk plaatje: eigenschappen van het transmissiestadium: bouw van het organisme.

Darmparasiet: ascaris lumbricoides (spoelworm)  heeft de grondfase nodig voor rijping
van het eitje en infectie via de mond.

Transmissie: de route/manier waarop het wordt overgedragen.

Incubatie: periode tot aan symptomen (ziekte): toename pathogeen: transmissie mogelijk.
Ziekte: afhankelijk van virulentie pathogeen en/of conditie van de gastheer.
Herstel: afname en verdwijning van symptomen (ziekte): afname pathogeen maar : sommige
infecties kan na herstel symptomen nog steeds overdraagbaar zijn.

Transmissieroutes
Horizontaal: van mens op mens bijvoorbeeld verkoudheid.
Verticaal: van ouder op kind.

Transmissiemechanismen
Contact transmissie: direct contact
- Direct contact: directe aanraking.
- Indirect contact: via iets, bijvoorbeeld een zakdoek.
- Druppeltjes: bij niezen, wel nabij zijn.
Vehicle transmissie:
- Water
- Voedsel
- Stofdeeltjes
Vector transmissie:
- Mechanisch: bijvoorbeeld uit een vuilnisbak, vlieg op eten.

, - Biologisch: de parasiet heeft de vector nodig om infectieus te worden.
