This is a perfect summary for preparing an exam or presentation. My summaries cover almost whole chapters and they are brief but yet explanatory, informative, and easy to understand. You do not have to read whole book in order to get A, because these summaries include both book chapters and class notes.

Chapter 4
CEO’s JOB:
Moyer’s 10 basic responsibilities of CEO:
1) Commit to the mission: understanding and keeping mission in mind when making
decision.
2) Lead the staff and manage the organization: responsibilities of hiring, training,
developing and motivating staff.
3) Exercise responsible financial stewardship: managing assets, revenues, and
expenditures.
4) Lead and manage fundraising
5) Follow the highest ethical standards, ensure accountability, and comply with the law
6) Engage the board in planning and lead implementation
7) Develop future leadership: preparing bunch of qualified successors.
8) Build external relationships and serve as an advocate:

Leadership (where and why?): is about purpose, vision and direction. It is interactive in a way
that it is a process that involves relationship between leaders and people who are led. Leaders

people toward the achievement of some defined goals.

Leaders and managers can be both the same or different people but their roles are definitely
different. It is possible for CEO to delegate management to others, but only the CEO can
