HPI: Carolyn Cross, a 41-year-old female of Hispanic origin, seeks a well-woman examination at
the clinic after the recent diagnoses of intraductal breast cancer in her mother, aged 63, and her
first cousin, aged 44. At now, she exhibits no symptoms or grievances and maintains a condition
of general well-being. Conducting a self-breast inspection has not yielded any novel
observations. She began menstruation at the age of 10.5, with a menstrual cycle lasting 25-26
days without any interfering bleeding. However, she has breast soreness during menstruation,
and her most recent menstrual period occurred two weeks ago. Both of her births were
uncomplicated; however, she had tubal ligation after her most recent delivery at the age of 35.
The patient had a gynecological examination three years ago, which yielded normal results.
Furthermore, there is no documented history of sexually transmitted fever. The patient had their
first mammogram 18 months ago at the age of 40, which revealed no abnormalities.
Additionally, all subsequent Pap smears have shown normal results. She is now apprehensive
about her susceptibility to breast cancer after the diagnosis of breast cancer in two of her
immediate family members.
