INTRODUCTION
In the 21st century, plastic pollution a never-ending problem. Increasing awareness
consumers and manufacturers have started to switch to recyclable and degradable plastic
in that time manufacturers started to make Jute bags.
I can start a jute bag making business on small scale basis. The jute bag
manufacturing process is not complicated. Even business is a grate income options for
students and women, jute is a naturally found cheap, bio-degradable Fibre product for an
eco-friendly, Character the demand for jute yarn, Jute fabrics are durable strong,
colourful, light weight, attractive and cheaper than most fabrics of other fibres. These are
anti-static, UV protective, Carbon dioxide neutral and natural decomposition possible.
Gunny fabrics are super raw material for jute bags.
ADVANTAGES OF JUTE BAGS
Jute bags are eco-friendly, biodegradable natural plant fibre unlike plastics.
They are reusable unlike paper bags which lack carrying strength and plastic bags
which are single use and need disposal being non-degradable.
Jute bags can be innovatively used to carry varied items like fertilizers, agricultural
products, jewellery, food grains and more.
They can be lined laminated, UV stablished, made waterproof, splash resistant etc.
through very simple processes.
They are breathable and anti-static that lengthen the life of produce transported if it
like food grains, agricultural produce freight items etc.
They are affordable trendy, light and strong with a never-ending plant resource base.
Jute bags are excellent for branding as complementary product and last long.
Cost effective and cheaper than plastic and paper bags.
WHY JUTE BUSINESS?
Jute is found naturally and is a plant on vegetable fibre that can be easily grown. The
extracted fibre is then spun into jute threads which jute bags manufacturers weave to
develop into jute fabric. The strength of these fibre is their soft texture and shiny

appearance has earned jute the name of GOLDEN FIBRE. Jute is among the earth’s
strongest fibre made from a plant and natural materials.
Since the 17th century, India has been commercially trading in jute products and bags.
When plastics were developed and popularised, the jute market plummeted. However
artificial plastics slowly revealed their disadvantages and effect of the environmental
pollution it leaves behind. Thus, jute in recent times has seen a sport of activities where
jute bags are becoming popular fast.
Hence, jute bag making is an excellent and profitable business idea.
Due to their excellent load bearing capacities, jute sacks were and are widely
used for packing fertilizers, agricultural products, cement, sand etc... Today we have jute
lunch bags, shopping bags, water bottle covers, and more to make it more appealing to
customers’ needs. Laminations of jute bag and lining them with cloth, muslin,
waterproof of fabrics, low density polyethene (LDPE) has made jute a fashion statement
besides being the most environment friendly, durable, and workable natural materials.
Jute bags are mainly used for the shopping purpose. Now a day the printed jute
bags are used for travel purpose too. All the machineries and raw materials used for its
manufacture are easily available from indigenous source and as not much technology is
involved. Factory can be established at rural and urban areas.

For initiating jute bag making business need not require having huge capital.
Small capital is enough to establish this business.
Home Based
It can be easily operated from home as it required less space. Need not require
having huge infrastructure for the same.
Eco-Friendly
Government has already taken steps no to use plastic bags rather than they can
use paper bags, jute bags for an Eco-friendly environment.
Market Potential
As jute bag and other items of jute like rugs, mats for packing of sugar, cement
etc. is highly demanded in India as well as internationally.
