What is communication?

It is the process of transferring information among members. That is
transferring information from one person to another.

Communication is a social process, ubiquitous, pervasive and critical. It deals
with the use of language such as sign language, vocal language.

Communication is from the Latin word ”communis” which means common or
shared understanding.

According to Udall and Udull, communication is the process by which
someone stores and impacts information to another person so that both
people can clearly understand one another.

Meaning of mass communication

Mass communication is the process of passing across or disseminating
information to people in different places using the mass media.

Forms of communication

● Oral and written communication
Oral means communicating through speech.
Written means what is pen down in a paper.
● Verbal and non-verbal communication
Verbal are spoken communication while non-verbal are either
written or described.
● Formal and informal communication
Formal communication, there are strict observance of officiality.
Informal communication, there is less or no observance of officiality.
