A control account that is used when a scope of work has been identified that is in the
future, and exact technical parameters are unknown or details are not yet available to
determine detail-level planning (i.e. control account planning). Higher Level or Summary
Level accounts contain distributed budget, a general scope description, and start/stop
dates but will not contain earned value or actual costs. These accounts may be used for
far-term effort until detail planning is available for control account planning.
Example(s): Current Month = OCT. Control Account AAAABB contains a budget of
$100K in the future months with a PPKG as an EVT

DCAA - answersDefense Contract Audit Agency [Accounting]: The Defense Contract
Audit Agency (DCAA) is chartered with the responsibility of performing audits for the
Department of Defense (DoD). DCAA's charter is set forth in DoD Directive 5105.36,
Defense Contract Audit Agency. In accordance with FAR 42.1, Contract Audit Services,
DCAA auditors conduct audits of proposals & contracts, incurred costs, and most of a
contractor's essential financial management systems (e.g. estimating, system,
accounting system, billing system etc.). DCAA's Directory of Audit Programs identifies
the standard audits which DCAA conducts. DCAA maintains a field audit office (FAO) at
a number of the larger Boeing sites. The DCAA Contract Audit Manual (CAM), and
other information about DCAA, are provided on the DCAA web site.

The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is chartered with the responsibility
of managing the administration of most defense contracts. DCMA's responsibilities

accordance with the requirements of FAR 42.201 Contract Administration
