Here we look at other hexoses, other than
glucose, commonly used as energy source;
i. Fructose
ii. galactose &
iii. mannose.
After ingestion and entry in blood, these
sugars are carried to various tissues for
catabolism.
They are converted to glycolysis intermediates
and metabolised via glycolysis.
