The house model of translation quality assessment
The House Model of Translation Quality Assessment evaluates translations by examining how well they meet their intended function, context (field), audience (tenor), and medium (mode). It distinguishes between overt translations, which stay close to the original text, and covert translations, which adapt the text for the target culture. This model ensures translations are accurate, contextually appropriate, and functionally effective.
